A Vibrant, Intimate Wedding at Manor House at King's Charter in Mechanicsville, Virginia

How do you propose to someone who loves to plan things out? John-Mark Walker (27 and a campus staffer) surprised Meg Allin (26 and a campus staffer) with an "Engagement Day" itinerary, listing all of the activities that he planned for them that day. "It was perfect because it was partially a surprise, but not completely," says Meg. Meg and John-Mark held their vibrant, DIY wedding at the Manor House at King's Charter in Mechanicsville, Virginia. The couple prioritized having fun at their wedding, so they chose a playful color scheme of coral and gray and opted for passed hor d'oeuvres at their intimate reception instead of a sit-down dinner, so guests could mingle and enjoy each other's company. Champagne Taste Catering provided an extensive variety of dairy-free delicacies to accommodate Meg's dairy allergy, and for dessert, guests enjoyed an extensive vegan dessert table. Meg and John-Mark's wedding included a number of beautiful DIY touches. The invitation suite was designed by Meg, and its style was echoed in the various signs at the wedding. The couple bought the mantle at the outdoor ceremony online and decorated it with peach and white flower arrangements and candles. They also created the centerpieces, which included coral books, milk glass vases with airy flower arrangements and photos of the couple. Meg and John-Mark would advise future brides and grooms to enjoy the planning process of their wedding. "It can be easy to stress over details, but it goes by so fast. Enjoying the moments leading up to your wedding makes the celebration go on a little longer."
