A Vibrant Interfaith Wedding at Tower Hill Botanical Gardens in Boylston, Massachusetts
Julianne Gupta (27, a prosthetist/orthotist) and Navin Gupta (30, a medical doctor) met at a rock concert in July, 2011.“His friend's friend's girlfriend was a friend of mine, so I knew it was safe to give him my real phone number,” Julianne says. “He called the next day and we set up our first date! On date night, we brought our Friendly's ice cream to a sandy beach by a lake and spent the night kissing on the lifeguard stand. It was a magical night, but I didn't expect much to happen. I was flying from Boston to Chicago for three months the next morning! But we rang up monthly 2,000 minute phone bills until I got back. We even said I love you before our second date. When I got back, we charmed each other's family and, in time, took our relationship to the next level – we planned to move in together! The stars aligned and I got a fantastic job in Boston and my husband matched in Boston for medicine residency. During our first Christmas living together, I opened a card from a friend asking if I was engaged yet. The very next moment, he took a small box from under our little tree, got down on one knee and asked for my hand in marriage. I swear I hadn't been pressuring him. Oh, and the ring was a beautiful, colorless 1.5 carat round cut diamond in a platinum setting. How could I say no?”
