rn Bikeramjit (Biki) Gill (31 and a law student) and Jasmeet (Jesse) Dhillon (30 and a law student) created a garden-inspired, traditional Sikh daytime ceremony at the Richard Nixon Library and Museum in Yorba Linda, California, followed by two receptions: a pastel-hued lunchtime gathering on the ceremony site and a glamorous red-, black- and gold-toned nighttime fete at the Four Seasons Hotel in Westlake Village. The first reception adhered to a fresh peach and pink garden theme and took place immediately after the ceremony; Biki and Jesse’s 500 guests were served lunch under a canopy of colorful flower garlands and umbrellas. Later that evening family and friends celebrated again with a luxurious, romantic candlelit reception at the Four Seasons. Tables were topped with luxurious textured silk and long rows of votive candles. Jesse swapped his ensemble for a navy tuxedo while Biki changed into a lighter-weight gown and minimal accessories for the evening. “For the reception, I went with something more contemporary and easy to party in,” says Biki, who danced the night away with Jesse to a mix of Indian jams and pop music. —Carolyn Meers

Per Indian tradition, Biki had mehendi (also known as henna) on her hands for her wedding day.
Per Indian tradition, Jesse arrived to the ceremony in a white horse-drawn carriage and wearing a safa head covering.
As Jesse arrived at the ceremony, he was greeted by Biki's parents and family, who apply sindoor (a red powder) to his forward to symbolically ward off bad luck and evil spirits.

After the ceremony at the Richard Nixon Library and Museum in Yorba Linda, California, guests enjoyed an on-site open-air lunch under a canopy. Vibrant Indian umbrellas were strung up next to flower garlands.
At the open-air lunchtime reception, guests sat at tables topped with silky orange linens, which were accented with turquoise and pink flower vases.

A section of the outdoor reception adhered to a simple, modern garden style. Each long wooden table was topped with a single peach linen runner, and chandeliers were draped with live greenery.
This cake was faux—guests were served pieces from a sheet cake—but it echoed the peachy hues of Biki's bridesmaid dresses and blended live blossoms with watercolor and floral-print motifs.
After the traditional Sikh ceremony, Biki changed into a lighter-weight skirt and top, and Jesse donned a navy tuxedo.

The evening reception at the Four Seasons Westlake Village, California, was glam and romantic, with silky crimson table linens and lots of candlelight.
Though traditional Indian music was played throughout the reception, Biki and Jesse had their first dance to Justin Timberlake's "Until the End of Time."
