Travel and art were the basis for Lauren Honesty (29 and a videographer) and Joseph Boyer's (29 and an international development program officer) color-infused, beach-inspired bash. Vibrant shades of orange, yellow, red and blue set the tone for their wedding day. Lauren even accentuated her Pronovias gown with a veil featuring a stylized drawing by her artist cousin and hand-embroidered by a local designer. “It represented a radial burst in the color scheme of the sun setting over the ocean,” Lauren says. She and Joseph booked the museum’s Modern Wing for its expansive space and exquisite art collection. Postceremony, guests enjoyed a cocktail hour with delicious bites and drinks while perusing one of the museum’s open galleries. “We were very inspired by the museum, so modern art became a theme in our wedding as well,” Lauren says. Hydrangeas and gladiolus were among the showstopping floral varieties in the centerpieces. In lieu of a bouquet, Lauren donned a multi-hued cuff. The couple channeled their venue’s existing design into their décor, opting for towering architectural arrangements and textured blue lounge vignettes. “Some of the photo references I gave were of Rothko paintings, and the floral team at Stems created something incredible,” Lauren says.
