A Vibrant and Natural Wedding in Minneapolis, MN

The day’s embellishments, both in the décor and on the cake, were kept simple to let the venue’s beauty shine through.
“The inspiration for the color palette was wheat since the Mill City Museum used to be a flour mill,” Cory says. The couple chose a bright blue to go along with this motif and incorporated wheat into all the floral arrangements.
The Mill City Museum is a converted flour mill from the 1800s. Originally built in 1874, it suffered an explosion in 1878, was rebuilt and then used as a flour mill until 1965. A fire in 1991 nearly destroyed the building again. “Now the ruins have been converted to a venue that combines modern aesthetics with the historical landmark in a way that is very respectful to the heritage of the building,” Cory says. The couple’s evening ceremony was held in the outdoor courtyard.
