A Vibrant Aladdin Themed Wedding at the Sacred Heart Banquet Center in Livonia, Michigan
Jaclyn Szuba (24 and a preschool teacher) and Kyle Anderson (25 and a design engineer) met in high school but didn't begin dating until their third year of college. Their parents already knew each other and their sisters played basketball together so they had a great opportunity to reconnect. The two dated for almost three years when they started to look at rings together. Jaclyn picked out one she loved and spent the next few months wondering when the proposal would come. At their annual family gingerbread house building competition, Kyle walked in with a late entry housing the ring Jaclyn had picked out and proposed. The ceremony was held at the St. Robert Bellarmine church as it was the church Jaclyn had grown up going to. After the traditional ceremony, guests gathered at the Sacred Heart Banquet Center, a venue their caterer had exclusive rights to. Their caterer, a good family friend, had encouraged the couple to think outside the box and go for a theme beyond colours. Growing up they both loved the Disney movie Aladdin and made it their theme. This theme consisted of vibrant colours like aqua, teal and lavender which were played up by a framed Aladdin puzzle, Aladdin themed props for the bridal party to walk in with and an Aladdin music box and glass light amongst other props. The family style dinner was a display of all the best food the bride and groom loved followed by a dessert bar and marbled wedding cake. Later on in the evening, Jaclyn and Kyle took time to honor her best friend who shared her birthday with their wedding day. They had a surprise birthday cake made for her and surprised her by having everyone sing happy birthday.
