A Tropical-Inspired Wedding at Gannon's in Maui, Hawaii

After nine years of dating, Shirley Hoang (31 and a workers' compensation insurance professional) and Sunil Sharma (33 and in information technology) traveled to Maui, Hawaii, for the first time. Not long after arriving, what started as a walk on the beach ended with Sunil on one knee. And so with sentimental love for the beach, ocean and islands at large, it came as no surprise that Shirley and Sunil had their outdoor wedding in Maui, where their engagement became official. The nuptials took place at Gannon's restaurant, where their tropical theme came to life through coral and teal accents—from custom-made invitations to the decorative linens draped over dining tables. The rolling green hills and waterfront served as a backdrop during the ceremony, where white folding chairs tied with pink ribbon faced a simple white-draped arch. Ukulele musicians played sweet melodies as Shirley walked down the aisle, making her way to Sunil where they participated in a traditional lei ceremony. Fast-forward to the reception, where guests sat at round dining tables named after one of four Hawaiian islands. Shirley and Sunil took their seats at the sweetheart table, identified by the "Mr." and "Mrs." teal signs that hung on the back, along with purple orchid leis hanging off the side. We loved the white orchid arrangements that decorated the middle of tables, which also matched Shirley's white orchid hairpiece woven into her updo hairstyle. With a love for the islands and a love for each other, Shirley and Sunil's wedding day couldn't have been more reflective of themselves.
