A Tropical Destination Wedding at Wyndham Grand Rio Mar Beach Resort and Spa in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico‎

Cathy Kimel (29 and a registered nurse) and Jonathan Florance (34 and an information security analyst) fully embraced their destination wedding. “After discussing when we wanted to have our wedding, we decided that the best idea would be to have a destination wedding,” Cathy says. “The decision to go to Puerto Rico with our family and friends was rooted in the time of year we decided to get married. We chose March as our wedding day, and the East Coast weather is normally still throwing winter at us. We thought it would be great to give our family and friends the option to get out of the winter gray and make a vacation of it if they chose.” Wanting to add the best parts of spring into their wedding, they used a pale yellow, periwinkle and ivory color palette, complete with rose, hydrangea and sweet-pea floral arrangements. Hartman Outdoor Photography beautifully captured all the details of the day. “We believe the relaxed beach-casual atmosphere of the destination wedding as a whole best reflects us as a couple,” Cathy says. “It allowed everyone to enjoy the days that they were able to stay at the resort leading up to the big day.”
