A Tropical Destination Wedding at Windsor Town Hall in Vero Beach, Florida

Originally, Mackenzie (Kenzie) Colgan (31 and a director of business development) and Jean Michael (Mike) Reinoso (33 and a COO) planned on exchanging vows in the Hamptons, but a trip to Windsor over Easter changed all of that. “We both said to each other: ‘Wouldn’t it be amazing if we had all our friends and family here?’” Kenzie says. After inquiring, the only date Windsor had available was the same date the couple had already set. “It was a sign,” she says. Inspired by Taschen’s “The Book of Palms,” the couple began planning their botanical-themed bash, full of fresh palm leaves, colorful touches and a confetti cake covered in fresh greenery. A blushing bride protea boutonniere matched Mike’s pastel tie and pocket square, while Kenzie paired her simple silk gown with Aquazzura pom-pom-covered sandals. “Since the theme for the wedding was ‘colorful cocktail,’ I needed to represent somehow!” she says. The couple exchanged vows between two large arrangements of tropical palms and white flowers. A New Orleans–style second line parade accompanied the newlyweds from Town Hall to the cocktail reception. “The brass band was a surprise to our wedding party and guests, and the spontaneity of the whole thing really set the tone for evening,” Kenzie says. The couple treated guests to a family-style meal of sea bass, saffron-basil risotto and slow-braised short rib. “I wanted the reception to feel like we were hosting a dinner party at home,” the bride says.
