A Tropical Destination Wedding at Grand Coral Beach Club in Playa del Carmen, Mexico
rn Barbie Wolfe-Cabrera (31 and a lawyer) and Brandon Cabrera (30 and a lawyer) knew they wanted to get married on a beach with white sand and pristine blue water. That’s why Playa del Carmen, Mexico, was perfect for their celebration. With the help of wedding planner Erica Bressan from Weddings in Playa, they chose the Grand Coral Beach Club site unseen, and recruited vendors committed to making their wedding feel like paradise. White, coral and green decor played out their tropical theme with the natural colors of beachside Mexico, where Barbie and Brandon said “I do.” At the reception, white flowers and succulents by Floreria Jardin and candles all around and even floating in the pool created a warm, romantic ambience, while colorful skulls and a steel drummer playing reggae music added Mexican flair. Barbie and Brandon also brought along colorful traditional Portuguese roosters, based on a nickname they have for each other, which they used as accents on their stationery and as cake toppers and fun decor. The highlight of the night? The chef of the Grand Coral Beach Club created a taco feast—more food than 65 guests knew what to do with—including eight inventive and traditional varieties.
