The Bride Jo Anne Samson, 33, a first-grade teacher in West Covina The Groom Noel Pamplona, 36, a systems analyst in Los Angeles The Date July 10 A gray and orange color combo fit the couple’s summer wedding date, and details like menu cards inspired by subway maps and postcard-style table name cards incorporated their love of travel.

A friend of the couple designed all of the wedding stationery, including the invitations, which they had printed on paper with a metallic finish for a modern yet sophisticated look.
The couple had a traditional Catholic-Filipino wedding mass and simply decorated the altar with a few floral arrangements that matched the bouquets.
The bridesmaids carried bouquets similar to Jo Anne’s but with more orange, including roses and cymbidium orchids.
The ring bearer carried an orange-and-gray silk pillow handmade by Jo Anne’s cousin.
Passed hors d’oeuvres served during the cocktail hour included tuna tartare on mini cones.
All of the gray chiffon bridesmaid dresses were custom-made in different silhouettes by Laura Bravo.
The taller ones included hydrangeas, roses, dahlias and orchids propped atop cylinder vases.
In addition to cupcakes, guests filled up on kettle corn and cookies. Jo Anne found rattan containers with miniature chalkboard labels for extra-cute packaging.
While Noel wore white-leather Chuck Taylors, Jo Anne wanted her shoes to be her “something blue.”
