A month after the trip, Sabrenna, who lived in Southern California, hopped a flight across the country to see Chris, who lived in New Jersey, for their first date, a New York Yankees game. After a year of dating long distance, Sabrenna and Chris decided being together meant more than where they worked or lived, and when Chris landed a great job in California, he moved in with Sabrenna in La Jolla. Sabrenna and Chris included an illustration of their wedding venue, Hotel Del Coronado, at the bottom of the menu cards to give the stationery a personal touch.
To shield themselves from the sun during the beach ceremony, guests took parasols tagged with the couple’s wedding date and an illustration of the top of a lighthouse.

Sabrenna and Chris got married beneath a bamboo arbor with strings of dendrobium orchids, crystals, and seashells hanging from the four corners. The same arrangements decorated the chairs along the aisle.
For a super-beachy twist, Sabrenna’s and Chris’ moms carried nautilus shells filled with orchids and stephanotis.

Sabrenna and Chris’ cake had a round top tier, an octagon-shaped middle tier, and a square bottom tier. The nautilus shell that topped the cake alluded to their beach theme, as did the bleached starfish and sand dollars placed inside the surrounding candleholders.
