A Traditional Wedding at the Woman's Club of Minneapolis in Minneapolis, Minnesota

Alexander Johansson (27 and a manager of microelectronic packaging) and Susan Krzmarzick (25 and a project manager) met through a professional chemistry fraternity at the University of Minnesota. Alex quickly took a liking to Susie and when Susie was feeling sick, Alex took the opportunity to show his caring side by bringing her homemade chicken soup. It was not long before they went on their first date and their new romance began. Three years later, while on a vacation together in Chicago, Alex proposed to Susie at a tapas restaurant similar to where they enjoyed their first date. "Eres el amor de mi vida. Ser mi mujer, la madre de mis hijos, mi companero para siempre. Casa me. (You are the love of my life. Be my woman, the mother of my children, my companion forever. Marry me,)" Alex said to Susie. The couple chose to share their wedding day at the Woman's Club of Minneapolis due to its beautiful interior, ample space for both the ceremony and reception and its amazing catering." The theme of their wedding was tradition mixed with chemistry. Susie's chantilly lace veil, a traditional Flamenco dance at the reception and a Spanish bull ice sculpture were just a few of the Spanish traditions from Alex's roots. Ligonberry tarts, the polka and the couple's reception table sitting underneath an arch of flowers were from Susie's Swedish roots. With one of their chemistry professors officiating the ceremony and chemical elements on the place cards, the couple's shared love for chemistry added a less traditional aspect to their day. Their deep purple, white and silver color palette and the lace details made for an elegant ambiance. Alex and Susie's traditional theme and unique details came together to represent their characteristics as a couple perfectly.
