A Traditional Wedding at the Willoughby Golf Club in Stuart, Florida

High School Sweethearts Nicole Hamilton (24 and a registered nurse) and Matthew (Matt) Dietrich (25 and a sheriff’s deputy) met in first grade and became engaged seven years after they started dating. Nicole was talking with Matt’s family during dinner when Matt slipped off her promise ring, as he usually does, and replaced it with the engagement ring. “I couldn’t believe it was actually happening! Matt of course asked me to marry him and afterward we celebrated with my parents and a bottle of champagne,” says Nicole. Within a year, the couple planned their traditional wedding, which was filled with personal touches. “Our style was rustic/vintage/romantic, but formal enough to fit our venue,” says Nicole. Gold, mint, white and tan created their color palette. Nicole and Matt held the ceremony at their family’s church, St. Anastasia Catholic church in Fort Pierce, Florida. After they said "I do," the couple’s 200 guests went into their cocktail hour at the Willoughby Golf Club where “mint to be” mojitos, an open bar and appetizers such as ham and cheese biscuits were available. The reception was decorated with rustic wooden crates from Nicole’s father’s citrus farm, floral centerpieces and gold votive candles, says Nicole. Her, Matt and their guests enjoyed a night of dancing to a DJ with LED foam sticks. “The kids and the adults all loved them,” says Nicole. “It's fun to be a little different!” Each guest was given a custom koozie with alligator shaped chocolates as their favor.
