A Traditional Wedding at the Tampa Garden Club in Tampa, Florida

Courtney Flateau (25, a nurse anesthetist) and Joseph (Joey) Paleveda (27, a structural engineer) met as teenagers through AOL. After a short dating hiatus during college, the pair reunited and were engaged in 2011. Joseph convinced Courtney to go on a friend’s rooftop while they were visiting New York City. “The next thing I know Joey is telling me sweet things and he then proclaims that he is now going to get down on his knee, which I think was close to my favorite part of his speech!” says Courtney. Almost two years later, they were wed in at the First Presbyterian Church in Tampa, Florida. The ceremony was decorated with pine trees, garland and red ribbons for the holiday season. As the celebration moved to the Tampa Bay Garden Club, Courtney and Joey’s decor included more romantic accents. Shades of ivory, blush and champagne were used throughout the room as ivory floral linens were met with frosted stemware and gold chiavari chairs. Tall arrangements of white hydrangeas, pink roses and peach roses or low breakaway vases filled with peach roses could be seen from every table. “Everyone knows we love Dave Matthews, so it was no surprise to our guests when our first dance was to one of Dave's sweet serenades,” says Courtney. The DJ continued to keep her and Joey’s guests dancing for the rest of the night.
