A Traditional Wedding at the La Playa Hotel and Golf Resort in Naples, Florida

Jessica Mullersman (24, a guest services associate) and Allen Schaefer (24, a mechanical engineer) met in college at the University of Central Florida during their sophomore year. They quickly became friends and started dating three months later. Allen proposed three and a half years later in front of both his and Jessica’s parents. Knowing she wanted a picture of the moment, Allen convinced her that his grandfather wanted a new picture of the couple before they all left for dinner. Jessica saw the proposal when she reviewed the picture in his camera. “In the background was a sign that said ‘Jess, Will You Marry ME?’ After looking up from the camera Allen was on one knee and asked the question,” says Jessica. Out of shock, she responded with “Sure” and the pair was engaged. They were wed about ten months later in Jessica’s hometown of Naples, Florida. The couple held their traditional ceremony at St. Agnes Catholic Church before moving to a gray and yellow decorated reception at the La Playa Hotel and Golf Resort. The couple and their guests enjoyed a buffet style dinner before dancing the night away to a DJ from 84 West Studios, says Jessica.
