Megan, a registered nurse, and Brett, a diver in the Navy, met while they were stationed at Oahu, Hawaii. The two dated for three years until Brett decided to leave the Navy since it was difficult to be in different branches of the military and started a government job in Virginia. Megan was transferred to Fort Drum, New York, and Brett traveled to visit her on their four year anniversary. Megan and Brett planned to take a cruise of the islands at Alexandria Bay, and afterwards decided to stop for ice cream before heading home. "I scarfed my ice cream down and wanted to go back to the car since I was now even colder. While walking back on the pier headed back to the car, Brett was walking closely behind me holding my hands. As I turned around, Brett was holding a beautiful solitaire diamond ring and sincerely asked "Will you marry me?" After "Oh my God!" and "Did you ask my Dad?" I said yes!"

The bride selected a silver pair of low wedges embellished with crystals for her wedding day.
Invitations by Dawn designed simple white invitations for the wedding day, with a single thread of beads hanging from the top.
Megan wore a white wedding dress designed by Kenneth Winston.

The bride and groom had their first kiss as a married couple in front of the gazebo on the Kent Manor property, with a bouquet of orange lilies and roses hanging overhead.
The married couple and their wedding party stood on the steps and balcony of the Kent Manor. The bridesmaids wore plum dresses made of chiffon from David's Bridal, and the groom and groomsmen wore tuxedos from Men's Warehouse.
Escort cards were placed on top of corks and colored either orange or purple, depending on what food the guest had requested. Pictures of the couple shot around the world were displayed throughout the venue space, hung with clothespins and twine.
Dining tables dressed in white at the reception were neatly set for guests.
Empty wine bottles with numbers on the front served as table markers, and glass jars with silk delphinium accented with floating candles were the table centerpieces.
