A Traditional Wedding at The Ancient Spanish Monastery in North Miami Beach, Florida

Over 16 months, Debra Float (34 and a pharmacist) and Nicholas Pizzi (32 and in sales) worked with Events on a Budget to create their traditional wedding with gold and white accents. Debbie and Nick were wed in St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church as two arrangements filled with greenery were placed behind the altar. After they said “I do,” 150 guests moved to The Ancient Spanish Monastery’s garden for an outdoor cocktail hour complete with action stations. “We wanted a unique venue and fell in love with the Ancient Spanish the first time we saw it,” says Debbie. To complement the location, amber uplighting filled Debbie and Nick’s indoor reception as white linen-covered round tables lined the rustic archway for an intimate and romantic atmosphere. Each table was met with gold chiavari chairs and either a clear glass candelabra or a tall arrangement of white roses and white hydrangea atop a crystal base. “The look was romantic and elegant. I just love white and gold!” says Debbie. After dinner, Debbie and Nick treated their guests to a four-tier buttercream-frosted confection baked by Todo Dulces. It was filled with chocolate ganache and almond cake. The celebration continued with a pool party at their guests’ hotel, The Trump International Beach Resort. For future couples, Debbie shares: “Get a wedding planner and enjoy every minute.”
