A Traditional Wedding at Sheraton Tampa Riverwalk Hotel in Tampa, Florida

Rebecca Jimenez (30 and a neurologist) and Michael Sanders (30 and an E.R. physician) started seeing each other after a Tampa General Hospital Halloween party and became engaged by Easter. As Rebecca gave up chocolate for Lent, Mike gave her a piece of Dove chocolate with the words “Would you let me treat you like the blessing you are for the rest of my life?” written on the wrapper. The couple worked with Lili V. The Company Inc. to plan a traditional blue, white, rose and silver wedding in just 10 months. Rebecca and Mike lined the aisle of Sacred Heart Catholic Church with white hydrangea and white tulle. Two arrangements of white roses were placed by the altar. After the couple said “I do,” their guests went to the nearby Sheraton Tampa Riverwalk Hotel for their cocktail hour and reception. Tall and low white hydrangea, baby’s breath and pink rose centerpieces adorned with crystals were placed atop rose linen-topped tables as each guest found his or her seat with the help of simple white, gray and pink table number. After a plated meal, the couple entertained their guests with a La Hora Loca, or crazy hour. “We had crazy hats, huge sunglasses, whistles, mustaches, maracas that everybody wore and a great entrance with "A Son de Plena," a Puerto Rican band,” says Rebecca. De Leon Band played for the rest of the reception as guests enjoyed a photo booth and a four-tier textured ivory and silver wedding cake. All were given homemade Sicilian amaretto, wedding and chocolate cookie wedding favors to represent Michael’s Sicilian background.
