A Traditional Wedding at Mardi Gras World in New Orleans, Louisiana

Jason Burkhardt surprised Christine Hamilton and popped the question during what she thought was just a fun comedy-filled weekend. Jason told her they were meeting with friends from out of town to see a Lisa Lampanelli comedy show, but when they got to the rose petal-lined room, he dropped to one knee. Over the next year and three months, Christine and Jason worked with Tying the Knot Wedding Coordination to plan a traditional navy blue and white wedding in New Orleans. They chose the ornate Mardi Gras World as the venue before deciding on their style and color palette. “The theme we wanted to stick to was unique and indoor chic,” says Christine.  Candles in black lanterns lined their traditional church ceremony as two arrangements of green hydrangea were set along the first two pews. After Christine and Jason said “I do,” their guests went to their venue's Grand Oaks Mansion Ballroom for a fun cocktail hour and reception. Christine and Jason filled the room with candlelight, rosette linens, and their floral accents. Guests played with hula hoops in the southern plantation-style venue before all enjoyed dinner and a five-tier textured white wedding cake accented with white fresh flowers between each tier. “Our wedding day was so relaxed and I didn't feel rushed or stressed at all!” says Christine. “It was a complete whirlwind of love, happiness, family, friends, and partying!”
