A Traditional Wedding at Fairmont Copley Plaza in Boston, Massachusetts

Stephanie Burns (25 and in real estate development) and Maxwell Forsythe (26 and in environmental services) sought a spacious cathedral in Boston, Massachusetts, to accommodate their 250 guests for their wedding celebration. As soon as they walked into the grand Cathedral of the Holy Cross, they knew they would get married there—the largest Catholic church in New England, with a stunning 300-foot-long aisle. Stephanie decided on a wedding dress in much the same way they decided on the venue: immediately and without hesitation. When Stephanie slipped on the white gown with lace, ornate beading and a cathedral-length train, she knew she would be able to dance comfortably. It was important to her because she "knew the wedding would turn into a big dance party." An all-white bridal bouquet, made up of calla lilies, hydrangeas and roses, added effortless beauty without distracting from the dress. Max, meanwhile, sported a traditional black suit and a white bow tie for a polished, classic look.

The couple's theme was "timeless elegance," which was evident from their traditional ceremony to their regal reception. The Fairmont Copley Plaza dazzled guests, as the night's festivities progressed from drinks to dancing. The ballroom, awash in purple and blush uplighting, was "the definition of timeless elegance," Stephanie says. Cocktail hour kicked off with signature drinks—lemon drop and Swedish Fish martinis, the couple's favorites—arranged around an ice sculpture, all set atop a glittering gold-sequined table. Guests found their favors on top of their plates: chocolate-covered Oreos wrapped in a dignified pink box. "It was a tribute to Max's favorite dessert," Stephanie says. On the dance floor, Stephanie made sure everyone received a mini chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream cone—her favorite. "With all the personal touches we incorporated into our celebration, we shared our personal tastes and love for each other with our family and friends," Stephanie says. —Alexa Wybraniec
