A Traditional Wedding at Brantwyn Estate in Wilmington, Delaware
Catherine Kirk (29 and a law student) and Robert Patrick (33 and a software executive) were inspired by the natural beauty of their venue, Brantwyn Estate. As a result, their wedding looked like something straight out of an English garden. Everything from the wedding invites to the escort cards was floral. Catherine instructed her florist, Flowers by Yukie, to make sure the flowers weren't too sculpted, so all of the garden-inspired bouquets and centerpieces were loose arrangements made up of various pastel flowers. As a nod to Robert's heritage, the couple tied in a Scottish theme to their wedding style. Their ceremony on the lawn of the estate incorporated a variety of Scottish traditions. All of the flower arrangements, from the bouquets to the centerpieces to the boutonnieres included Scotland's national flower, the thistle. And Robert donned a custom kilt for the day! Simply Perfect Weddings was there to sort out all the pretty details. "Our day went shockingly smooth, but we tried to remind ourselves in the lead-up to the day that it was just that—one day," Catherine says. "It is just one of what we hope will be countless great days in our life together." Leslie Barbaro Photography was there to capture all the great moments from Catherine and Robert's wedding!
