A Traditional Wedding at Baker Lofts in Holland, Michigan

While working year-round at a Christian camp in northern Michigan, newlyweds Katie Robrahn (28 and a non-profit event coordinator) and Christopher Law (28 and a technical director) started out as strictly close friends. "We spent a lot of time together, road-tripping with friends and taking vacations with family," Katie explains. "We didn't fall in love all at once -- it was a slow progression of a five-year friendship that turned into a 'duh, this person is the one!' moment." The proposal came on a snowy November day in 2013 when Chris re-created the beginning of their relationship with a photo adventure walk through a local nature preserve. "He suggested that we step out on to the peninsula to get a better angle of the lake," Katie says. "It was there that he fought back tears and got down on one knee." With family and friends spread out all across the Midwest, the couple focused on finding a venue that would be centrally-located tot he people they loved most. "We made a short list of places and finally decided to wed at Dimnent Memorial Chapel at Hope College," the bride says. "As an alumna of the school, I couldn't get the beautiful exterior and stained glass windows out of my ?mind." For their timeless reception at Baker Lofts in Holland, the couple stuck with a tangerine, pink and gray color scheme paired with wood accents. Eastern Floral was brought in to create lush arrangements on a budget, while The Gilmore Collection catered the affair. "The day was all about us -- our personalities and our love for each other along with our friends and family," Katie says. "We wrote our own vows and shared some tearful moments -- that was my absolute favorite memory of the day."
