This couple did a traditional vineyard wedding in Temecula Valley Wine Country just right. From the dim wine cave ceremony illuminated by candles to the vineyard reception that took place on the lawn and veranda at Europa Village, Temecula; this rustic, intimate location was everything Valerie Fortier (40 and in business development) and Matt Doose (36 and in security) had envisioned for their winery wedding. “When it came to colors, themes and fashions, I didn’t want a hyper-coordinated look,” Valerie says. “We both wanted an intimate, rustic feel—a day that really reflected us.” Red and green grapes served as the inspiration for the color palette that decorated many wedding details, from the aisle candelabras filled with lush flowers that were arranged by MFG Floral Designs and Events, to the vineyard-themed number cards on dining tables, all of which was captured by Courtney McManaway Photography. To thank guests for attending their wedding, the couple presented grape wine bottle stoppers that were wrapped in green tissue paper, placed in plastic bags and tied with purple ribbon. “In terms of making guests feel special, I think the whole feel of the event was relaxed, like a fabulous dinner party with friends and family,” Valerie says. We didn’t want a real generic wedding feel, and our guests commented that it was a truly enjoyable event.”

Valerie wore a pair of ivory and silver open-toed heels on the wedding day, which were accented with colorful rhinestones.
Valerie held a bouquet of purple roses, hydrangeas and calla lilies accented with green eucalyptus.
Valerie wore an ivory lace wedding dress with transparent lace sleeves.

At the reception, tables were dressed in white tablecloths and decorated with lush centerpieces of green and purple flowers.
White and purple stationery with accents of green served as table numbers, and depicted grapevine design to fit the vineyard theme.
"The flowers came out stunning," Valerie says. "They were Tuscan-inspired with white hydrangeas, purple roses, olive leaves and other green and purple accents."
The sweetheart table was dressed in a white tablecloth and had purple petals scattered on the top. Behind the table were two black candelabras filled with a lush variety of flowers.
"We gave our guests grape wine bottle stoppers wrapped in green tissue with purple ribbon and little rustic tags as thank you gifts," Valerie says.
The three-tiered ivory wedding cake was decorated on the top and sides with green grapes and small purple flowers. The cake was positioned on a simple white cake stand.
