A Traditional Wedding at Troon North Golf Club in Scottsdale, Arizona
“It was all a pure, magical coincidence!” says Masha Pasichnyk (24 and an artist), talking about how she met her husband, Johnny Casale (27 and in finance). Masha was showing her artwork in the United States when a revolution struck her hometown in Ukraine and she could not safely return there. The couple dated during Masha’s time in America, but when her visa was about to expire, Johnny asked Masha to marry him and stay in Arizona. With only a month and a half to pull off their perfect wedding, the couple faced the planning challenges of a tight time frame, but Galina from Gala’s Everything took the reins and put the couple at ease. “She proposed to implement the very traditional elements from Ukrainian culture into the autumn decor, combined with Italian cuisine at the reception,” says Masha; it was a decision that allowed both the bride and groom’s heritages to be represented. “Everything felt like the best parts of Ukraine and Italy combined.” As guests entered the wedding at Troon North Golf Club in Scottsdale, Arizona, they received shots of vodka and a piece of rye bread with salt, a traditional Ukrainian welcome. The couple stood on a hand-embroidered Ukrainian ‘rushnyk’ during the ceremony, which inspired the style of the menus and the fall color palette. Each guest received a hand-painted bell from the bride’s parents as a meaningful memento of the special day. Every time guests wanted to see the newlyweds kiss, they could invoke the Ukrainian wedding tradition of ringing a bell and shouting, "Gorko!" Masha says, “Planning the wedding can be a challenging experience, with a lot to learn for both the bride and groom. At the end of the day, my advice would be to concentrate on the positive and just enjoy the time of your life! Go through it with your spouse and a beautiful attitude!” See the romantic wedding details captured by LTL Photography, below.
