A Traditional Spring Wedding at Asbury College in Lexington, Kentucky

Bailey Campbell (21 and a nursing student) and Derek Caldwell (22 and a project manager) met at The University of Kentucky and spent years as great friends without realizing that they each liked the other.  After eight months of dating, Derek surprised Bailey with a vintage-inspired Neil Lane engagement ring when he proposed in Cherokee Park. For their wedding, the pair planned a simple Lexington affair at Asbury College followed by a purple and cream reception.  "I've always loved purple and said that it would be in my wedding ever since I was a little girl!" says Bailey. "I loved using the cream to keep things simplistically elegant and didn't care what flowers were used as long as they were the right color." The traditional reception decor included vases filled with water, pebbles and floating candles. Guests enjoyed an Italian dinner buffet followed by a mutual friend and DJ getting everyone on the dance floor.
