Whitney Miller (29 and an operations analyst for a gas and energy company) and Charlie Camp (33 and an electrical engineer) met at a friend's dog friendly barbecue in Atlanta, GA. "I had a new puppy and Charlie had a lab so we instantly bonded over our mutual love of dogs. We talked the whole evening, but I thought he might have a girlfriend so we left the barbecue without exchanging numbers," says Whitney. They later reconnected through Facebook and after a few dates became inseparable. Charlie proposed one year later at their home in Washington D.C. before heading to a showing of "A Christmas Carol." He threw in a second surprise later that night, taking Whitney for a celebratory drink at a nearby bar where he had gathered a group of their close friends, including some from out of town. "I was so surprised to find out he’d be planning this with everyone for months and nobody had given me any clue!" says Whiney. Inspired by Savannah's charm, the couple planned a traditional affair that exuded Southern elegance. They chose two historic venues for their wedding, starting the day off with a an outdoor ceremony at the Davenport House, followed by a reception at The Olde Pink House. The ceremony's romantic garden setting needed little decoration, already boasting lush greenery and fresh blooms, so the couple kept the extras to a minimum, adding just a few white and green hydrangea pomanders to the ceremony aisle. Crystal chandeliers hung from the lush green arch under which the ceremony took place and a string ensemble played classic music softly in the background, creating a romantic ambient air.

When Charlie proposed, he presented Whitney with a unique cushion cut sapphire in a pave diamond halo and white gold band eternity band. For the wedding, Whitney chose a matching pave diamond band in white gold, while Charlie chose a traditional polished band with decorative milgrain details.
Whitney went traditional with her bridal bouquet, carrying an arrangement of full ivory blooms like, garden roses and ranunculuses down the aisle.
The bridesmaids wore long formal gowns in navy satin fabric by Vera Wang David’s Bridal in a one-shoulder silhouette.
Though the Davenport House's garden, where the ceremony took place, was stunning on its own, the couple added a few simple additions to highlight the setting, lining the aisles with ivory and green hydrangea pomanders.
For an added elegant touch, the couple incorporated chandeliers into the Davenport House's lush garden for the ceremony, including one that was suspended from the arch under which they exchanged vows.

A string ensemble played soothing classical music as guests arrived to the ceremony, creating a romantic atmosphere that played up the wedding's elegant Southern theme.
Whitney and Charlie chose a traditional style for their programs, adding a contemporary twist in the form of a floral motif along the bottom of the long programs.
Whitney chose a strapless mermaid gown by Casablanca Bridal with a sweetheart neckline, beaded lace appliqués and a sheer lace panel in the back of the dress. "I really wanted a fitted dress that flared out past my hips to show off my curves," says Whitney of her gown.
