Megan Burgess, 28, a graphic designer, and David Stein, 27, a law enforcement officer met on a blind date set up by one of their mutual friends not long after David had moved to Greenville, NC. They hit it off after an evening spent bonding over Mexican food and travelling and the rest is history. Things started to get serious after the two took the plunge and moved to Georgia together when David was offered a job in Atlanta — they both knew it was the real deal. On an afternoon hiking trip, upon reaching the top of the mountain, David presented Megan with a yellow cushion cut diamond ring and blurted out, "Will you marry me?" To which she enthusiastically replied "Yes." A traditional wedding filled with southern charm and a taste of their new home was a must for the pair. Cotton and monograms were key motifs, making an appearance in everything from the boutonnieres to the stationery and even the caramel apple wedding cake. A color palette of ivory, pink and navy had a preppy, feminine feel that gave the decor an air of playfulness without losing its sophisticated edge. Megan added her personal touch to the day, using her graphic design skills to custom design all of the day's stationery and hand-lettering all of the signs. Locally made honey and cookies served as the wedding favors and allowed guests to sample some of the area's offerings, while a wooden Georgia-shaped plaque showed a little bit of new found state pride.

Megan's bouquet was filled with blush pink garden roses, white chrysanthemums, seeded eucalyptus and tufts of white cotton that added a touch of southern flair.
The bridesmaids wore navy blue dresses, each in a style of their own choosing. They paired the look with nude pumps and understated jewelry.

To get that southern gentleman look, David and his groomsmen donned light tan natural blend suits in a classic style, pairing them with blue ties and suspenders for a pop of color.
Megan handmade all the boutonnieres herself using dried wheat and cotton to create a rustic look that truly reflected the wedding's southern locale.
Cotton Aisle Markets
Monograms are an important wedding tradition in the South, so to go along with the traditional southern vibe of their fall affair, Megan and David incorporated the signature marking throughout. Megan, a graphic designer, made all of the day's stationery using a custom designed monogram featuring gold lettering and a laurel wreath.

Megan and David had a lot of fond memories in the good ol' state of Georgia and had recently moved to the Peach State as well, so a guest book in the shape of their new home was a perfect fit.
Wanting to give their family and friends a little taste of everything they loved about Savannah, the couple sent their guests home honey straws from Savannah Bee Company and Byrd's Cookies as favors.
The couple skipped the classic chocolate and vanilla cake, opting instead for a more unexpected flavor. Their apple cutting cake was drizzled with caramel and finished with a simple monogram.
