A Traditional, Rustic Wedding at Yellow House of Willowdale in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania
Sarah Linn (28 and a registered nurse) and Marc Ashby (27 and a restaurateur) didn't let a little rain stop them from having the perfect day at Yellow House of Willowdale in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania. Instead, they embraced the downpour. Sarah put on a pair of rain boots for her rainy-day wedding portraits, and the couple used a see-through umbrella as a prop for their couple shots. They set up the wedding arch that Sarah's father made for them on the dance floor and had a beautiful tented ceremony instead of the outdoor ceremony they had planned for. Just after Sarah and Marc's nuptials, the sun broke through the clouds, so guests were treated to a stunning sunset afterward. The following reception had a ton of awesome DIY details. Sarah and her dad made centerpiece stands out of wood they got from an old barn. On top of these stands, they used candlelit lanterns and small flower arrangements of roses and chrysanthemums to decorate the dining tables. To incorporate a rustic element into their decor, Sarah and Marc chalked their signs in cursive on wooden blocks. These included the table numbers and the sweetheart-table signs, and the wedding program was also written on a chalkboard easel. Artful I Photography captured all these details and more; see them all, below.
