A Traditional, Rustic Wedding at Harrington Farm in Princeton, Massachusetts

Brianna Craite (27 and a speech language pathologist) and Benjamin Brown’s (28 and a sales professional) wedding was the perfect balance of New England charm and rustic elegance. While the Washington, DC-based couple initially wanted a destination affair, the logistics of planning a wedding from afar proved to be more complicated than they had anticipated. The couple then set their sights on an intimate soiree in New England, where Brianna and Benjamin grew up. Harrington Farm in Princeton, Massachusetts, had just what they were looking for: a warm, inviting ambiance and undeniable New England charm. “It felt just like home,” Brianna says. The day started with an outdoor ceremony on the site’s stone patio, the lush natural landscape and quaint pond providing a picturesque setting for the couple to exchange vows. A tented cocktail hour and indoor reception followed, where Harrington Farm wowed guests’ taste buds with dishes featuring local and organic ingredients, including baked brie and apple pastries, steak and cheese quesadillas, artisanal cheeses and crudites. They even surprised guests with a late-night snack: a build-your-own mac and cheese bar. Brianna took a DIY approach to the decor, creating all the centerpieces, bouquets and boutonnieres herself. From the moment the couple booked Harrington Farm, Brianna pictured simple, tall branch centerpieces that played up the height of the venue’s cathedral ceilings. She took branches boasting bright pink and purple blooms from a memorial tree in the backyard of her childhood home, planted in remembrance of her aunt, and transformed them into skyward-reaching arrangements that perfectly captured the essence of the spring season. After dinner, guests hit the dance floor, pausing only to strike a pose at the couple’s stocked photo booth. And at the end of the night, they took home bags of homemade cookies and recipe books filled with Brianna’s family favorites. “We wanted people to feel at home while celebrating our marriage,” Brianna says. “We used many personal touches, which really helped us achieve that home cozy feeling.”
