A Traditional Romantic Wedding at Brakefield at Riverwalk in Rock Hill, South Carolina
Ashley Holden (26 and a human resources coordinator) and Will McKain (30 and an engineer) created a simple yet romantic wedding at the Brakefield at Riverwalk in Rock Hill, South Carolina. "The venue was new and beautiful with traditional decor," Ashley says. Photography by Angela Tucker captured their special day from the traditional, outdoor ceremony to the intimate reception. Ashley and Will decided on a soft, and somewhat unique, color palette using a light mocha color with blush and ivory accents. Using these accent colors, their florist, Lily Greenthumbs, created beautiful arrangements of roses, carnations, lisianthus and hydrangeas for the bouquets and centerpieces. The small round bouquets used for the centerpieces were surrounded by votive candles for a romantic touch to the simple tables. "We wanted all of our decor to go with our 'classic' look," Ashley says. Keeping that in mind, Ashley wore an Allure Bridals satin gown with sparkles along the back and bottom. "I love sparkle and tried to incorporate a lot of it into my look," Ashley says. With the fall wedding date, the bridesmaids wore long gowns in the light mocha color with blush jewelry. "I tried to tie in my colors as much as possible without throwing in an overwhelming amount of pink," Ashley says. Ashley and Will decided to keep their wedding small and intimate. "I think just having a smaller wedding and the people closest to us really reflected us as a couple," Ashley says. "We were surrounded by people we really loved and you could feel it."
