A Traditional Pink Wedding at the Hilton Hotel in Stamford, Connecticut

Jennifer and John’s wedding had all the trappings of a traditional, romantic affair for their spring wedding. They threw the entire at the Hilton Hotel in Stamford, CT, where the couples’ families are from. “We wanted the wedding at a hotel to make everything easier and to create a one-stop shop, for the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception, and hotel rooms. Not only was the location two miles from our home, but the hotel is very nicely done and has a gorgeous garden pavilion tent,” says Jennifer. But what really makes Jennifer and John’s wedding stand out are the sentimental details they tied in throughout the day to remember family members who had passed away. “We had a remembrance table with photos of family who were not able to join us, but were there in spirit,” says Jennifer. The bride also made a special tribute to her aunt that passed away when she was young. “Very soon before I was born, my aunt passed away in a very tragic way. It was a devastating loss for our family, especially my mother and grandmother. I wanted to do something special to honor her, so I sent my florist a small picture of my aunt, as well as a piece of lace from her wedding dress. My florist, Melissa, wrapped my bouquet in the lace and pinned her picture on the front. It was beautiful and emotional and the best way I could have honored her memory,” says Jennifer.

Classic Cushion Cut Ring Set
In keeping with the wedding’s classic look Jennifer kept her hair and makeup look simple and elegant. She accessorized long, loose waves with a sparkly crystal headpiece.
Tying in the pink color palette, Jennifer carried a bouquet filled with blush roses, white hydrangea and a few succulents. Jennifer’s bouquet wrap was chosen in memory of the bride’s late aunt and she also included a photo of her aunt so she could be with her on the day.

The bridesmaids rocked long pink gowns and carried bouquets filled with baby’s breath flowers. Beading on the bodice of the bridesmaids dresses gave the classic look a hint of glamour.
Tented Ceremony With Gold Chairs
Classic lanterns lined the aisles of the ceremony for a warm, intimate feel. “We wanted the night to feel simple yet elegant so we added lanterns, candles, gold tablecloths, and a family remembrance table to give our decor that extra special touch,” says Jennifer.

Romantic Couple's Shot
For their reception entrance Jennifer and John decided to do something a bit more fun than just walking into music. “John and I planned on making a fun entrance, so I bought us some heart-shaped sunglasses I found at a local discount store. It was a hit,” says Jennifer.
Traditional Pink and White Reception
The reception tables were decorated simply, yet elegantly with tall arrangements of white hydrangeas and a few branches. The height of the centerpieces complemented the venue’s high ceilings. rn
Pink and gold were woven throughout every detail of the wedding including the stationery and paper elements which were designed by Wedding Paper Divas.
One metallic tier added a hint of glamour to the couple’s wedding cake. Underneath the frosting, was sponge cake layered with lemon curd and raspberry. Yum! Guests also enjoyed an ice cream sundae bar as an additional dessert option.
For the cake topper the couple choose wooden figurines that resembled them. The cake toppers added a hint of a rustic vibe to an otherwise glamorous metallic and buttercream wedding cake.
Romantic First Dance Under Pink Lighting
The couple tied their love of cooking into their favor idea. They gave out personalized jars filled with different spices. In addition, they also provided each guest with homemade hotel bags filled with snacks, water and a map.
