A Traditional, Multicultural Destination Wedding at Paradisus Punta Cana Resort in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic

Tannia Gaby-Cisneros and Myron Dang met through work and planned a destination wedding. With the help of Destination Weddings Travel Group, the couple planned a fun celebration at Paradisus Punta Cana Resort that incorporated both of their cultural backgrounds. The wedding began with a traditional Vietnamese tea ceremony in the venue’s gazebo. Myron wore a red tuxedo with a white tie and black shirt while Tannia walked down the white fabric-covered aisle in a traditional red Vietnamese ao dai accented with gold and green detailing. After the ceremony, the couple joined their guests in a fun outdoor reception complete with light-up cocktail tables, white stools and purple uplighting. But this was not Tannia and Myron’s only ceremony! Soon after, the couple had a traditional Catholic ceremony decorated with white folding chairs, fans in orange cones along the aisle and a white fabric runner. Dark bamboo sticks were placed in tall white vases down the aisle as palm trees lined the ceremony space. Tannia and Myron said “I do,” in the same white gazebo where they had their first wedding. This time, the couple’s poolside reception was accented with woven chargers atop round tables, white folding chairs and low orange centerpieces. All enjoyed a three-tier white wedding cake decorated with a kissing cake topper as well as white and orange roses. Tannia and Myron spent the rest of their night on the dance floor with friends and family members. Before they returned the California, the couple wanted to celebrate their wedding with one more activity. Tannia and Myron took a ride around the island in a dune buggy and had a “trash the dress” photo shoot in a Dominican cave.
