A Traditional Jewish Wedding at American Swedish Historical Museum in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

This wedding was the epitome of "you do you." Elana Friedman (34 and a campus rabbi at Duke University) and Jamie Rincker (36 and a registered dietitian) put their own spin on a traditional Jewish celebration and filled the American Swedish Historical Museum in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, with personalized details. We're talking DIY. They handmade tea wedding favors that resembled vintage mail, designed Hebrew-accented programs and had this sentimental "Love" display with personal photos. They even reflected their personalities during the ceremony by incorporating feminist and progressive language. Another thing that we love is how they made guests feel extra-special. Absolutely everyone signed their ketubah (the Jewish wedding contract), surrounded the couple during their service and celebrated throughout the day. Some attendees were also part of the planning process. "We did most of it ourselves, but many of our friends and family were heavily involved—especially Nicole Paloux, who is connected to all the best Philadelphia vendors in the service industry,” Elana says.
