A Traditional Indian Wedding at the Westin Diplomat Resort in Hollywood, Florida
While they live in Chicago, Vanita Aswani, 30, and Bryan Hofeld, 41, had a traditional wedding in Hollywood, Florida. “Florida is a special place for my husband because of many memories made on family trips when he was a child and, of course, for me since I grew up in South Florida,” says Vanita. Champagne and blush were the focal colors for their day. The couple, Maid of Honor and Best man all dressed in traditional attire for the fusion Hindu ceremony. The Maid of Honor wore a pink ombre sari while the Best Man was dressed in a kurta. Vanita and Bryan wore coordinating outfits that were kept secret until their wedding day. The couple was married under a large arch covered in white fabric, white hydrangeas and pink roses. Vanita, Bryan and their family changed their outfits for the reception. Pink and gold light covered the space and accented the couple’s champagne, gold, white and pink decor. Each table was paired with an arrangement of pink roses and white hydrangeas. Their guests enjoyed a sit-down dinner of “American food with an Indian twist,” says Vanita. During the reception Vanita’s father surprised her with live entertainment - a trio of traditional Indian dancers.
