A Traditional, Garden Inspired Wedding at Founders Hall in Charleston, South Carolina

Hannah Davies (25 and an interior designer) and Christopher Davies (33 and a software developer) first met at a Catholic bible study in Charleston, SC but did not really get to know each other until a year later after friends insisted they get together. After a year and a half of dating, Chris surprised Hannah with a vintage inspired ring on Christmas night. With strong Catholic faiths, Hannah and Chris decided to have their wedding ceremony at the Cathedral of Saint John the Baptist in Charleston, SC where they first met. "The Cathedral in downtown Charleston is also surrounded by historical old homes and beautiful gardens and it created a magical location for the day," Hannah says. They had their reception at the nearby Founders Hall in Charles Towne Landing where their modern, garden style could come to life. "The wedding was held in the morning," Hannah explains, "so I wanted it to feel like 'British garden party' meets 'clean and modern.'" Their color palette was blues and greens with pink accents. Hannah drew a lot of inspiration from succulents for the decor using them as centerpieces and in flower arrangements. "The rest of the decor was relatively simple and clean so that the flowers and people took front and center," she says. Hannah and Chris gave potted succulents to their guests as wedding favors in hope thats whenever they look at them, they remember their special day.
