A Traditional, Fall Wedding at the Officers' Club in Fort Belvoir, Virginia

Kaitlyn Simmons (23 and a student) and Brian Steel (23 and in the army) met on a blind date. When Kaitlyn’s parents met Brian, they knew that they had met their future son-in-law. Although their relationship was long-distance because of Brian’s job in the military, the couple made it through thick and thin. Brian proposed to Kaitlyn at the Back Bay National Wildlife Refuge on the beach, with Kaitlyn facing the ocean. The couple chose to be married at the Fort Belvoir Officers’ Club because of its pretty views of the Potomac River. Kaitlyn chose her two favorite colors, navy and burgundy, as the color palette for the fall wedding. She wore an A-line wedding dress with a sweetheart neckline that she purchased from Labella Bridal Boutique. Her bridesmaids wore long navy dresses with lace cap sleeves from Macy’s. Brian wore his military attire, and his groomsmen dressed in black tuxedos from Men's Warehouse. Flower arrangements included hydrangeas, baby;s breath, roses, calla lilies, ranunculuses and viburnum. Centerpieces and aisle decor featured tall, cylinder, glass vases with flowers and candles floating in them. Kaitlyn and Brian’s traditional wedding in Fort Belvoir was lovely in shades of navy blue and burgundy.
