A Traditional Fall Wedding at the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn, Michigan

When Scott (27 and a mechanical engineer) first met Katy (28 and a nurse anesthetist) at a college party, he was instantly infatuated. Little did he know, she was already seeing someone else. The incredibly persistent Scott took it upon himself to badger their mutual friend Annie at every possible opportunity to determine whether or not Katy was yet single. Four years later, Scott and Katy met again at their friend’s wedding, where Scott learned that she was (at last!) single. Through some tipsy coercion, Annie convinced Katy to add Scott on Facebook, where she was able to keep in touch with him through college. Their first date was a group date to a Tigers vs. White Sox baseball game, and their relationship survived through two years of long distance dating (as Katy finished anesthesia school in Chicago and Scott continued to work in Detroit) before Katy moved to Detroit to live with Scott. On their three-year anniversary, Scott’s dinner reservation (complete with a celebratory bottle of champagne) was fast approaching and he was running out of time to propose, so he ended up spontaneously proposing in their hotel bathroom while Katy curled her hair. Katy of course accepted, charmingly calling Scott her “half orange” or otherwise “other half.” Scott, a huge lover, was thrilled to have their wedding at the new Driving America exhibit at the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn, Michigan, wear Katy got to incorporate her love of rustic, fall decor in shades of brown and (perhaps significantly?) orange.
