A Traditional, Elegant Wedding at Temple Beth Sholom in Flushing, New York

Rebecca Goldberg (24 and a senior recruitment consultant) and Miki Segal (25 and a chief marketing officer) first met when Miki was visiting friends at the same university where Rebecca was studying. They did not see each other for another two years when they ran into each other at a mutual friend's birthday party. There Miki bought Rebecca a drink and they started dating soon after. Almost a year and a half later, Miki proposed. Miki's mother asked Rebecca if she could babysit Miki's niece the following Wednesday afternoon. When Rebecca reached the apartment door, she heard her and Miki's song playing, Ellie Goulding's "How Long Will I Love You." As she entered the apartment, she saw red rose petals scattered around with pictures of both of them and warm candles lighting the space. Miki walked out in a suit and got down on one knee to propose. They decided to have their wedding at Temple Beth Sholom in Flushing, New York where Rebecca is a member and received her baby naming and had her Bat Mitzvah years earlier. "It was very personal and beautiful and allowed for a classy and elegant vibe," Rebecca says. The reception was decorated for a chic, clean look. Centerpieces were large arrangements of white flowers in tall glass vases. "The lighting I selected for the room was blue," Rebecca says, "so everything had a very crisp and sexy vibe to it." Rebecca and Nick were sure to keep the wedding personal to them. They had a traditional Jewish ceremony where family members were involved and also a glamorous reception where guests filled the dance floor.
