A Traditional Destination-Themed Wedding at The Florida Aquarium in Tampa, Florida
Gabrielle (Gabby) Carter (23 and a Naval Officer) and Nicholas (Nick) Morris (23 and a systems test engineer) first met during their second semester of college. The spoke to each other one morning after winter break and had an engineering course together later that day. Thinking Nick looked familiar, Gabby went up to him and-reintroduced herself, forgetting they had spoken before. “So no cheesy pickup lines were needed, I embarrassed myself before he had the chance,” says Gabby. Nick proposed on the beach where the couple had their first date. “It ended up being hilarious because he spent the entire car ride and walk just reminiscing about our relationship the last 3 years and just kept being so sappy that I started to suspect it ahead of time,” says Gabby. Neither can remember Nick’s exact proposal, but it ended with a “yes.” “Let's just chalk it up to being caught up in the moment,” says Gabby. With a love for the ocean, the pair ultimately decided to have their ceremony and reception at the Florida Aquarium. A tropical destination theme helped establish Nick and Gabby’s malibu blue and guava color scheme. Their personalities were brought into the even with a sand mixing ceremony and shoe trivia game during the reception. Their guests were given personalized tea light candle holders and luggage tags as their wedding favors.
