A Traditional Country Wedding at St. Francis Xavier College Church in St. Louis, Missouri
Peter O'Brien (23 and a student) asked Turin O'Brien’s (23 and an ER nurse) father for his blessing during a hog hunt. A born-and-bred country girl, Turin knew she wanted a wedding day that would celebrate her farm roots. Inspired by the Plains and Colorado skies, she used flowers native to her home: sunflowers, daisies, hydrangeas, spider mums, yellow roses, lilies of the valley, freesia and even wheat from her own harvest fields. After Turin earned her nursing degree from St. Francis Xavier College, the couple didn’t have to look far to find a stunning venue for their traditional Catholic wedding. Says Turin, “The stained glass in the church provided all the beauty needed to celebrate our marriage.” —Jen Leahy
