A Traditional Christian Wedding at Oak Hill College in London, England

Samantha (Sam) Roberts (28 and a teacher) and Daniel (Dan) Freyhan (29 and a vicar) met while working in Oxfordshire, England, and bonded over their love of dancing. Following Dan’s move to North London to attend Bible college, Sam was offered a trainee teaching position four miles away by genuine coincidence, which led the close friends to the next stage in their relationship. One evening, as Sam was expecting to head home after having dinner in London with Dan, she was puzzled to find herself climbing out of the tube at Heathrow Airport. In the early hours of the next morning, Dan was on his knee in front of the Arc du Triomphe in Paris, and Sam said yes! The couple was married at the local church, a huge, red brick building with massive ceiling beams, large stained glass windows and plenty of space for a large audience, all of which were beautifully captured by Blume Photography. “For us, the main event of the day was the marriage ceremony itself, and we wanted to accommodate as many people as possible for that,” says Sam. The ceremony was traditional, with a personal touch by a choir of friends that prepared three pieces of music for the service, including special arrangements of two hymns. Following the ceremony, guests moved around the corner to Oak Hill College, where the reception took place in the dining room, adjoining reception room and gardens overlooking the rolling meadows of a local park. Guests played games on the lawn, enjoying the August weather and dessert table, and left with favors of miniature Cadbury bars and hand-picked lavender.
