A Traditional Catholic Wedding at The Manor House in Littleton, Colorado

Amanda Skold (22 and a nurse) and Paul Villard (23 and works in sales) met in college. Growing up, Amanda went to the Denver National Western Stock Show and Rodeo every year. Two years in a row Paul tagged along. “As we were walking around, Paul stopped me and said, ‘Can I talk to you for a minute?’ I said, ‘Just a second.’ And he continued to say, ‘No, please, can I talk to your for a minute?’ As I turned around, I saw that he was down on one knee in front of everyone,” Amanda says. “The first thing I said was, ‘Wait, what are you doing?’ He continued saying, ‘You are my best friend, and I love you so much and cannot see spending my life without my best friend. Will you marry me?’ I automatically said, ‘Yes!’” Amanda and Paul had a traditional Catholic ceremony at the Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Denver. Paul’s childhood priest flew in from San Diego to marry the couple, which was very special to them. Amanda carried a rosary from her late grandfather around her bouquet as a sentimental reminder of him and as her something blue. Afterwards, the couple headed to The Manor House for their reception. “We knew we wanted someplace that gave us a beautiful, relaxed and romantic vintage look that wasn't too old lady,” Amanda says. “The Manor House was exactly that. It was so great because we were able to combine the city and the mountains of Colorado all into our day.” They used blush, ivory and gold in their color palette for a vintage chic vibe. They added rustic details in the mason jar centerpieces, chicken wire escort card board and textured buttercream cake. Their favorite part was the awesome music by Elite DJ and Production. “Our DJ was amazing,” Amanda says. “The dance floor was full the entire night. We are a fun and outgoing couple and that was what we wanted in our DJ because we wanted a party. That’s what we got and it was awesome.”
