A Traditional Catholic Wedding at The Crystal Ballroom in Houston, Texas

Jayme Molohon (30 and a registered nurse) and Robert Pack (30 and a pool builder), who met two-stepping at a local country-western barn, envisioned something traditional and elegant for their Houston wedding. They chose the Annunciation Catholic Church, the oldest church in Houston and a Texas landmark, as the backdrop for their ceremony before celebrating with a garden-inspired reception at The Crystal Ballroom. “The church had so many beautiful features," Jayme says. "We didn’t need to decorate much.” For the ballroom, though, "We wanted to make a 'wow' statement." With lush arbors, hanging candles and touches of gold, the ballroom transformed into a romantic garden party escape. After dancing to a live band and an after-party with more bites and a cigar roller, the couple made their grand exit in a horse and carriage. “Don’t sweat the small stuff and enjoy the planning process,” Jayme says. “It goes by fast.”
