A Traditional, Bright Wedding at Bethany First Church of the Nazarene in Bethany, Oklahoma
For Katie Simpson (23 and a graphic designer) and Taylor Greenhill (22 and a worship arts pastor), wedding inspiration emerged from teacups and bright florals. "Tea to me is dainty, elegant and whimsical, and I felt like that fit my personality, so we ran with it," Katie says. "We filled tea pitchers, teapots and teacups with beautiful floral arrangements." Kate and Taylor met at Southern Nazarene University, and both attended Bethany First Church of the Nazarene in Bethany, Oklahoma. When it came time to plan their wedding, the couple decided the church made the perfect setting. "We grew together there and felt like it was the most meaningful place for the both of us," Katie says. "Christ is at the center of our lives, and we wanted that to be a big part of our wedding day." The couple kept their wedding traditional, but added their own flair. Katie walked down the aisle to a piano arrangement of "Isn't She Lovely," and Taylor created a playlist of the couple's favorite songs for the reception. Katie chose a color palette of peach, light orange and navy, accented by pumpkin and royal blue. Lush floral arrangements of white hydrangeas and peach roses decorated the reception, arranged by Cole Dewey Designs. Our favorite pop of color? The bride's bright royal blue shoes, which kept their wedding vibrant and playful. Everything was captured by Sarah Libby Photography. "Our look kind of evolved," Katie says. "We wanted to keep it formal, but also relaxed, since it was an afternoon wedding. We kept the colors bright and fun, but also wanted to keep it timeless."
