A Traditional Beach Wedding at White Orchid Beach House in Maui, Hawaii

Ashley Farley (25 and a property operations manager) met Ikaika Okimoto (29 and a guest service attendant) when she started working as a photographer on the cruise ship he managed. A few months after the couple began to date, Ikaika’s mother passed away and they spread her ashes at Waimea Bay, which was her favorite beach in Oahu. Ashley and Ikaika went back to the bay for a sunset swim a year later, where Ikaika randomly found a bottle of his favorite beer in the sand, and tried to get something out of it. It turned out that inside of the bottle was a note about how much Ashley meant to Ikaika, and once she was done reading he got down on one knee. Ikaika proposed with an amethyst ring, which was the inspiration for their lavender, purple, ivory and green color palette. The couple had their beachy wedding at White Orchid Beach House in Maui, Hawaii which had a large grass area with a small beach for their outdoor ceremony and tented reception. Hanging mason jars filled with purple and white flowers decorated the ceremony aisle, which led to the ivory draped wedding arch with a waterfront backdrop. At the tented reception, tables were dressed in white tablecloths and were decorated with ivory and purple centerpieces accented with greens. Guests were given little mason jars filled with Kona coffee in lavender organza bags to remember the wedding day by.
