A Traditional Romantic Wedding at The Country Club of Orlando in Orlando, Florida

Kristine Appel (26 and in human resources) and Richard (Ricky) Harb (28 and an attorney) met at a Florida State University basketball game and got engaged in Aspen, Colorado. The day after Valentine’s Day, the couple was on a midnight sleigh ride through Stillwater Ranch when Ricky popped the question. “Since we got engaged outside, he bought a light-up ring box so I would be able to see the ring when he proposed,” says Kristine. Throughout the next year, the couple worked to plan a romantic winter wedding in Kristine's hometown. “The style for our wedding was a very traditional look with simple elegance.?The only colors we wanted in the palette were gold, ivory, and cream,” she says. Kristine and Ricky were wed at the St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Winter Park, Florida. Surrounded by colorful stained glass windows and modern lighting, the couple simply added two white floral arrangements on the altar as accents. After they said “I do,” all left the church for a romantic reception at The Country Club of Orlando. Kristine and Ricky decorated their reception with white linen-covered round tables, gold chiavari chairs and either tall or low hydrangea and rose centerpieces in shades of pink and white. Tea light candles and low tea rose accents in gold bulb vases were also set along each table. For a personal touch, the Kristine and Ricky included a few hints of his cultural background. “My husband's family is Lebanese so we had a belly dancer perform and guests from both sides got up and had fun dancing to middle-eastern music,” says Kristine. After spending a night on the dance floor, each of the couple’s 250 guests joined them in a sparkler exit.
