A Timeless Winter Wedding at the Carolina Yacht Club in Charleston, South Carolina

Mary Abraham (29 and an attorney) met Ryan Lucas (31 and an information technologist) while they were both working at the same software firm. Mary knew she didn't want to get engaged until after she was done with schooling and had established her career, and Ryan waited several years before proposing on the banks of the Stono River. Since Mary and Ryan first met and fell in love in Charleston, South Carolina, deciding to host their wedding in such a meaningful city was an easy choice. They exchanged vows at their favorite historic church, the Unitarian Church in Charleston before inviting guests to celebrate at the Carolina Yacht Club. "As much as we love Christmas, we were fortunate that the church was willing to take down the Christmas decorations before our ceremony so that we weren't constricted by a red or green color scheme," says Mary. "Instead, we went with a navy and silver color scheme to focus our guests attention more towards New Years' Eve festivities." The bride wore a timeless, long lace-sleeved gown and her late mother's wedding veil before changing into a short BCBG reception dress. After a sparkler grand exit, Mary and Ryan left by boat into the Charleston Harbor!
