A Timeless Formal Ballroom Reception at Chattanooga Golf and Country Club in Chattanooga, Tennessee
Kathryn Smith (28 and a sponsorship manager) and Arch Trimble (28 and the vice president of Trimble Insurance) grew up going on family vacations and to church together. But it wasn't until Kathryn moved back to Chattanooga after college that the pair reconnected and immediately began dating. Arch surprised Kathryn with a brilliant cut diamond engagement ring one afternoon on a mountain bluff overlooking the Tennessee River. They immediately knew that they wanted to get married at their childhood church—the same place that both of their parent's were married in over 38 years before—and planned a formal winter celebration at the Chattanooga Golf and Country Club. The ballroom cocktail hour and reception were decorated with a classic champagne, pearl and gold color palette before completely transforming into a contemporary lounge celebration with dramatic purple lighting. Lush white flower arrangements orchids, lilies, peonies and hydrangeas decorated the long dinner banquet tables and added a refined feel to the formal seated dinner. "We had a champagne ice sculpture bar during our cocktail hour in the ballroom and while we were at dinner in another room, they laid down a white dance floor, changed the soft seating arrangements and made the space feel like a completely different ballroom!" says Kathryn.
