A Timeless, Elegant Wedding at Springfield Marriott in Springfield, Massachusetts
Chrissy Abbe (28 and a kindergarten teacher) and E.J. Abbe (38 and a history teacher) met while freshmen at Westfield State University and began dating. Seven years later, Chrissy started a new job closer to E.J. and they moved in together. After a few months of living together, E.J. told Chrissy he was taking her to lunch when he ended up taking her to a park. E.J. proposed there under a gazebo. He was so excited to propose, he only had the ring for twenty minutes before! Chrissy and E.J. had a traditional Roman Catholic ceremony at the Sacred Heart Parish in Springfield, MA. "We felt that is was one of the most beautiful churches in the area," Chrissy says. They held their reception at the Springfield Marriott. They loved the venue so much that they booked it two years in advance. "We loved that there was an outdoor roof top area with grass and beautiful city views," Chrissy says. Their colors were navy and white for their timeless and elegant look. The reason Chrissy initially chose the colors was because she fell in love with a certain dress for her bridesmaids and that dress was only available in limited colors. "I tried to keep everything timeless and classic, but still fun and modern," she says. The flowers were all white bouquets with a mix of peonies, roses and hydrangeas. Chrissy and E.J. were sure to keep their wedding day classic and elegant.
